Core Beliefs

Christ is the answer

‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”’ John 14:6

We believe Jesus was the Son of God sent for the sins of the world to bring us back to God by cleaning us of Sins, putting HIs Spirit within us and calling us to serve in His Kingdom.

Jesus’ virgin birth, life lived, death died and resurrection were historical acts that really happened. Jesus was God in the flesh and thus God died for the sins of man kind to save man kind. This salvation comes through faith by grace.

The Church is central

“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another” Romans 12:4-5.

The Church is not an institution, it’s not a building - it is God’s answer to this broken world. It is a community of believers, the body of Christ. It is vibrant and alive and is a family that all can join and contribute to and through. We are passionate about seeing all play their part in the Church. Christianity is worked out in community and the church is that community.

Grace is the foundation

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God…” Ephesians 2:8

We are saved not by works but by grace that God has shown us through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. Grace causes us to live for Jesus. It empowers us and helps us say no to sin. It helps us show grace to others.

The Bible is trustworthy

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…” 2 Timothy 3:16

The bible is an miraculous and amazing library of books which is Spirit breathed. It wasn’t just written by men but by the Spirit of God at work through those men. We teach from the bible. We base our lives on God’s word. It guides us, convicts us, shows us what is to come, answer our questions and gives us a clear vision of our place in God’s world and will.

The Holy Spirit works today

“In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:22

The Holy Spirit continues to work in power today. We can be baptised in the Spirit, speak in tongues, prophecy and operate in all of the gifts of the Spirit as God apportions. The work of the Holy Spirit is paramount ot us being an effective Church.

Sin is a real problem

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Sin separates us from God and causes destruction in our lives and others. Jesus came to rid us of our sin and set us free from its slavery. As we walk our lives as Christians we still have to deal with sins in our lives so we have been justified through Christs sacrifice but are being sanctified each and every day to become more like Him.
